DONATE NOW

While American political systems crack at the seams and aisles are staunchly divided, there remains a generation of refugees who are not as disillusioned as the rest of us. New Americans are getting their right to vote for the first time. This generation fled war and endured famine, they know violence and have survived persecution, and still they chose to come here - to a country that always has, and hopefully always will, represent peace, liberty, and justice for all.

"I'M ALMOST 70 YEARS OLD. I WAS EVICTED FROM BHUTAN AND I LIVED IN A REFUGEE CAMP FOR TWO DECADES. I NEVER GOT AN OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE FOR THE GOVERNMENT I CHOSE. NEITHER IN BHUTAN NOR IN NEPAL. I'M SO EXCITED TO BECOME A U.S. CITIZEN AND VOTE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY WHOLE LIFE."
