SUPPORTING FOREIGN BORN INDIVIDUALS ON THEIR UNIQUE PATHS TOWARD INTEGRATION AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY
WE BELIEVE THAT WHEREVER IN THE WORLD YOU ARE BORN, YOU ARE AT HOME IN COLORADO
More than 65.3 million men, women, and children flee violence and instability in their home countries every year. Those who end up in Colorado struggle to navigate our health, education, and employment systems while rebuilding safe and stable lives.
BUT RESETTLEMENT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING IN THE LONG PROCESS OF REBUILDING A LIFE
Upon arrival, immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers work with resettlement agencies to find housing and employment. But that is only the first step. They must also learn our language, navigate our systems, and integrate within their local community in order to thrive.
THAT'S WHY WE HELP ALL FOREIGN BORN INDIVIDUALS ON THEIR PATHS TOWARD SELF-SUFFICIENCY
After preliminary resettlement, CAO steps in to support and stabilize foreign born individuals as they rebuild safe and stable lives. We work with partners to help bridge the cultural divide, support non-English speaking populations, and provide personal case management.
OUR 10 SERVICE AREAS SUPPORT COMMUNITY INTEGRATION
We provide programs to support individuals in becoming self-sufficient after their initial arrival. Through a combination of community navigation, case assistance, and education programs we work hard to ensure that immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers are capable of thriving in Colorado.
